Big Sean x Puma Collection Launch Party

Last night Puma celebrated the launch of the Big Sean x Puma collection at Goya Studios. As a tribute to rapper Big Sean’s childhood in Detroit, the event included a food truck from Chicago’s Harold’s Chicken Shack and a barbershop. Big Sean also performed and guests could purchase pieces from the collection at a pop up shop.

“It’s definitely one of the cooler things that comes from doing what I do, making music and being a creative, you get to express yourself in other ways,” Big Sean told WWD. “I’m from a real stylish city; everyone’s ‘fitted’ from the Midwest in general. You’ve got your Detroit players, your Ohio players and Chi-town. It’s cool to be repping where I’m from and doing it like that.”

The collection features jackets, track bottoms, and suede sneakers which appear “with unique lacing, dedicated Detroit branding, and Big Sean’s signature stamped at the heel.” Although Big Sean became a Puma ambassador last March, this is his first collaboration with the brand.

“They got me and I like people who are looking to expand, they’re not satisfied and they want to try new things,” he told WWD, when asked why he wanted to work with Puma. “That’s where I’m at in my life — I’m expanding and growing and I’m at a point where it’s time to work with the people who want to work with you and willing to take the same chances as you and risks as you.”

Big Sean began his career in 2007 when he signed with Kanye West’s GOOD Music. He has since released four studio albums, including Finally Famous, Hall of Fame, Dark Sky Paradise and I Decided.

The Big Sean x Puma collection will be available online on March 22.
