Elizabeth Arden Shoots with Reese Witherspoon
Elizabeth Arden recently shot with Reese Witherspoon at Goya Studios. The actress is the new face of the Elizabeth Arden brand and its “storyteller-in-chief.”
“I’m excited to work as a creative partner alongside the Elizabeth Arden team, producing content that celebrates the spirit of the brand, highlighting female-centric stories that illustrate women’s true life experiences which unite us all.” Witherspoon said.
The Elizabeth Arden team used Stage C for the shoot, and Goya provided stage and equipment rental.
Reese Witherspoon will help Elizabeth Arden promote the launch of various products including the March On Lipstick, which celebrates women’s empowerment. According to the brand’s history, Elizabeth Arden marched on 5th Avenue for equality in 1912 and distributed red lipsticks as a “symbol of solidarity.”
The “March On” campaign features a limited edition lipstick in the shade “Red Door Red.” All of the proceeds from this signature lipstick will go to UN Women, an organization dedicated to gender equality and championing women around the world.
Witherspoon told People InStyle that the campaign will continue Elizabeth Arden’s tradition of empowering women.
“With March On, Elizabeth Arden gives the power of red lipstick a whole new meaning,” she said. “Not only does it symbolize feminine power and solidarity, but it will also contribute to creating a world where gender equality can become a reality.”
Reese Witherspoon is known for her successful acting and producing career. She has already won two Oscars and founded her own film production company, Pacific Standard, five years ago. She also launched her own clothing brand, Draper James to honor her Southern heritage in 2013. Most recently, Witherspoon created Hello Sunshine, a “media brand anchored in storytelling, creating and discovering content that celebrates women and puts them at the center of the story.”
Elizabeth Arden’s SVP of global marketing Kara Langan appreciates Witherspoon’s entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to sharing women’s stories.
“It was very important to us as a brand to find somebody who would truly embody the story of the brand,” she told AdWeek. “We believe in our heritage and who Elizabeth Arden was as a person, and despite the fact that she started her company over 100 years ago, the way she thought about women and beauty is relevant and contemporary. A lot of women don’t know that story anymore. We wanted someone who could embody that heritage of the brand”
